Works with training (shih tzu, 11 weeks)
Three days ago I give it a one star. It initially didn’t work but I changed my mind. The product has a good enough hold on the pee pad for his age and size so I suppose he gave up on trying to pulling it. I had to train him to leave it alone without quitting. Eventually he learned. It didn’t take long. In both scenarios, he used the potty (Because he could feel the pee pad). I ordered the one with the grid (different product) just in case the teenage phase brings a new level of rebellion but I don’t need it. Don’t hesitate to get it if he is new to potty training and has never chewed a pee pad before. Also if you’re willing to train him to not chew it, get it. 5 stars because it’s a good product and it’s a given that one must train their puppy 😂Previous post:Honestly sad because I was excited for it to work. As some other say, the concept is good but it’s a new challenge for him and he thinks it’s a game. He will use it like a regular pee pad but he also tries to eat it like one. I’m near giving up 🤷🏽♀️ I also tried training him to not do so but he is persistent. What I did was used a grass pad but I don’t like the chore of cleaning it. Then I used the base of the grass pad and taped the pee pad to it. He left that alone but it’s too much work to tape. Someone on YouTube tapes the pee pad to the holder from the top. That seemed to work for her but I feel like it’s just introducing me to a new level of work again. Maybe if I started him up with this instead of the loose pee pad it would have worked.

Aid For Old Fat Cats–So Simple & Effective
I bought this for our 10-year-old, 15 1/2 pound cat to use for peeing, since she seems to be having trouble getting into the regular litter boxes when she has to pee (she still uses the regular ones for pooping). IT WORKS! I had my older teen daughter set this up, along with the charcoal pads I bought with it, in an area in our basement where urination on the floor was becoming a problem. Since placing this, and without ANY training, there hasn’t been any more peeing in that area, other than on the pad. Not only does the 10 y/o tabby use it, but my daughter saw my 3 (four?) year old cat going pee on the pad.I’m absolutely delighted that this is being effective, and am buying one for the upstairs bathroom, another place where the old, fat tabby has seen fit to not use the litter boxes.I want to emphasize that our 4 cats are all box trained. The vet said she all seemed well with the old tabby and there didn’t seem to be a medical problem (no bladder infection) causing the out-of-box urination; vet did suggest it may be behavior, and that it could be from how big the old kitty is. We didn’t have to train the cats to use this; just secured the pad onto it & placed it where there was peeing happening. The pads are also holding up well & it seems the cats don’t bother to scratch the pad up.We’ve been using this for approximately 3 weeks now, so I am very happy. I do recommend trying this if you have an older and/or heavier cat that may have issues getting in/out of a typical cat box for going pee. This pad holder is very low to the ground; I suspect our 15.5 pound cat has a problem getting into the higher entries for the cat box when her bladder is full, but she can access this very easily. This makes for one of the simplest solutions, holding the pee pad firmly in place & sort of “designates” it’s purpose.I’m amazed something so simple is effective.

Better quality than other brands
Why did you pick this product vs others?:I picked this product because I used to buy the Amazonbasics version but it was so thin, it would leak. But the quality of Iris is good!! It’s thick & absorbs a lot of my puppies pee. I dnt have to change it as frequently as I did with the amazonbasics. Quality:Quality is top notch. I can feel the difference! The iris one is thicker & just feels like it’s made from better materials.

Holds pee pads well
I’m trying to pee pad train my dog on a patio for one reason: We live in an apartment with no yard in a city that sometimes gets long-lasting ice storms that sometimes take weeks to thaw, and my dog’s has leg deformities that make walking in snow and ice painful and dangerous. He has realized that he can’t handle the snow and ice and refuses to go out in it at all. I don’t plan to use training pads regularly, but if and when those storms happen, I want him to know that it’s okay for him to go on pads out on the patio so he doesn’t have to feel pain. And, training pads are a lot easier to just wrap up and throw away than all of those wild outdoor potty contraptions. So far, my dog is too concerned with being a good boy to actually use pee pads. And, since we were working on this on a 3rd-floor patio that is subject to wind, I needed a way to keep the pads secure enough that they wouldn’t fly away during training. I thought this product would make it obvious to him that this is a potty and that it’s okay to use.First, this training pad holder does exactly what it claims to–it holds pee pads into place. If my dog were to scratch the pad, I’m sure it would come loose, but that’s not really his vibe. It seems like it would be easy to clean after removing a training pad, as there are few ridges. For a smaller lightweight dog, I can tell he feels uneasy standing on this. The lip on the edges is pretty wide, which is probably why this product can secure the pads so well, but it does create an awkward barrier that the dog has to step over to reach the pad. It has little feet on the bottom to keep it in place, but that makes it bow down a tiny amount when he steps on it. It’s not a huge bowing, but it does make him look nervous because he feels something moving below him. This is not the product’s fault… I can’t imagine there’s a solution to a problem like that. I actually feel like this product looks far sturdier than others I’ve seen!I do wish this product laid more flat and didn’t have such a tall lip around the edges, but I understand its purpose. I can see this working great for a puppy or extremely lightweight dog (maybe ~8 lbs?) who is working on potty training, but sadly, it’s not working out for my adult dog who doesn’t understand that it’s a potty or that it’s safe to stand on.

Does what it says
I was using just a puppy pee pad on the floor, but when my puppy started to become rambunctious….she’d quickly grab it and play with it…shred it and try to eat it. I also noticed that she tended to only want to use the edges of the pee pad majority of the time….so I typically ended up with it on the pee pad and then a puddle next to it. I had to do something. On Amazon I go like always and I found this. Didn’t even know this existed. Works beautifully. I’ve had this for around 2 months now. Fits standard pee pads perfectly. It cleans easily. It doesn’t hold in any odor. This does not completely keep my puppy from peeing on the floor. This is not the products fault, she aims towards the edges for whatever reason. If anything, it’s helped keep more of it in. The raised edges do seem to encourage her to stay inside of it. We rarely have “accidents” now and no more shredding pee pads. See below.*On another note- she has scratched at the pee pads, like she’s digging in the dirt for gold as well as chewed on the plastic a fews times. I was worried I’d have to find another solution. She gets redirected with her chew toys and gets a treat every time she uses it correctly (no chewing or digging). At this time it doesn’t seem like it will be an issue that I need to address. She hasn’t done it since. So if your dog is determined this will NOT stop them. This product is not indestructible, please know this! It can be chewed on and if determined they can still get to the pee pad. I don’t understand why some people rate it poorly when the product is doing what it’s “intended” to do. You just have to know your situation and find the best solution you can live with. A dog is going to be a dog. Please address why they are doing what they’re doing to begin with. I realized that my pup (*puppies will chew) wasn’t getting enough mental stimulation, she’s an Aussie. She had physical but not enough mental stimulation. Combine that with making sure we only encourage the wanted behavior and simply dismiss the unwanted behavior. I’m not saying I’m a pro, far from it… nor is everyone’s situation the same….I’m just saying don’t expect a product to do your job, expect what it says it’s intended use is for. 🙂

Puppies still shredded the pee pad
Get one with the grate. This one did not stop the puppies from chewing and destroying the pee pad. Waited for too long to get this only to have to order something else.

Don’t clip well
I bought this at the beginning of June to deter my puppy from ripping up his pads for fun. It worked at first but now my puppy just digs the pads out and shreds them. They don’t clip in very tight, it feels and looks loose even when closed. I think is the clips were tighter and really held the pads down flat he’d have a harder time getting them out.

Love this pee pad holder for our indoor potty! #yorkiemom
The media could not be loaded.
We have a 4 lb Yorkie and a 2.2 lb Yorkie and we love to travel. This pee pad holder works great paired with our exercise pen for protecting carpets, creating a potty system for training and keeping our puppy from eating the pee pad. (You could also use the 22×22 washable pee pads if your pup is eating the Lee pads.) It’s light weight, easy to clean and portable for home and travel. We also have one on our back patio so the concrete doesn’t smell like puppy pee anymore. It’s a must have for your little one! I also have a few of my other favorite Amazon finds on the video as well. Happy shopping!

Does the job well!
I’ve been using the dog pee pad holder for a few weeks now, and overall, I’m quite pleased with its performance. It does a great job of keeping the pee pad in place and preventing leaks, which is exactly what I needed for indoor potty training my puppy. The holder comes assembled, and it effectively keeps the pad secure without any slipping or sliding. It’s also lightweight and portable, making it convenient to move around as needed. However, I have to mention that my puppy, who is in the chewing phase, managed to chew through the plastic within a few weeks. While this was a bit disappointing, I understand that puppies can be quite persistent chewers.Despite this setback, I still found the holder to be a valuable tool in our potty training journey. It serves its purpose well and has helped establish a consistent spot for my puppy to do her business indoors. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable pee pad holder, with the caveat to keep an eye on teething puppies!Overall, it’s been a positive experience, and I’m happy with the functionality it provides.
